Teeth whitening

Shape and color disorders in the teeth can cause problems up to psychological disorders in the individual. With the development of aesthetic and restorative materials in dentistry, many color, shape and position disorders can be easily resolved. Bleaching of discolored teeth is cheaper, more practical and harmless compared to other restorative methods. Bleaching is the process of whitening the discoloration of the structure of the teeth or dark colored teeth in order to give a more aesthetic appearance. Teeth whitening is an ideal solution for a whiter and natural smile if your teeth are healthy. Teeth change color with aging, consumption of substances that stain the teeth (coffee, tea, cola, cigarettes, etc.), traumas, old dentures, veneers, fillings. Antibiotics (tetracycline) used during the formation of teeth or excessive fluoride consumption can also lead to discoloration of the teeth. This may be due to the structure of the tooth, or due to the staining of dental factors, antibiotics or fluoride taken during the developmental period, old age or a blow to the tooth.

What is Teeth Whitening?

Whitening is the process of removing the discoloration found in the structure of the teeth (ie, permeated). This should not be confused with the cleaning of bacterial plaques and calculus, which is done by the physician in the clinic and adheres to the surfaces of the teeth. In order for the whitening to be successful, first of all, dental calculus should be cleaned by the dentist. After cleaning all the surfaces of the teeth, a transparent plastic carrier mold (plate) is prepared in the laboratory according to the measurements taken from the mouth (individually). Special places are reserved for teeth whitening gel in a well-manufactured plaque. They are special drugs that contain “Carbamide peroxide” used in whitening. It is presented in syringes as a set and applied to the mouth by squeezing into these special places prepared in a carrier mold. It is worn for an average of 6-8 hours a day (preferably during sleep). Fillings and veneers that have previously been made on your teeth cannot be whitened in this way, their colors remain the same.

Teeth Whitening Methods?

HOME TYPE WHITENING

Personalized whitening plates are prepared by measuring inside the mouth. A certain amount of whitening gel is applied to this prepared plate. The plate is used for at least 4-6 hours during the day. It is a treatment that takes about 10-15 days.

OFFICE TYPE WHITENING

It is a teeth whitening method applied in the clinic. It provides an effective whitening in a much shorter time, such as an average of 1 hour.

CHANNEL WHITENING

It is applied to discolored teeth after root canal treatment. The filling in the tooth is removed and a whitening gel is applied to the cavity. The tooth is then tightly closed with a temporary filling. The sessions are repeated until the desired color is achieved.

COMBINED WHITENING

It is a teeth whitening method that is applied both in the office and at home. After it is applied in the office or clinic, the process is supported with home bleaching for 2-3 days.
